Vicks® Behind Ear Thermometer ~ Review

I have always had issues with thermometers.  IF I manage to get an accurate reading, I still have to be able to read it correctly.  Between those two seemingly simple tasks, I am likely to mess up somewhere.  I usually end up just doing the old fashioned “lips to the forehead” technique.  Pitiful… I know…

When I received the new Vicks® Behind Ear Thermometer to review, I figured that it would likely be the same old thing, but I was pleasantly surprised.

It is rather simple to get the thermometer in the correct spot with just a little practice.  Once you get the right spot, it is easy to return it there when needed.  I suggest that you practice several times before you really need it, if possible.  I first practiced on myself and then on my son.

Even though he is now 12 years old, my son with Aspergers can create quite a challenge when he has a fever and I have to repeatedly attempt to swipe the other thermometer just right over his forehead or am stupid brave enough to attempt the mercury thermometer under his tongue…with his mouth shut… for a lifetime three whole minutes…  Of course with the latter method, I still have to cross my fingers…and eyes in order to attempt to read it correctly.

Basically, you just have to place the end of the thermometer in that little indentation behind and towards the bottom of your ear, push the button, wait about one second until it beeps, and then read the temperature from a digital display.  It even lights up in green, yellow, or red depending on what the temperature is.  You don’t even have to worry about germs with this thermometer.  Pretty cool!

You can even get a $10 mail-in-rebate from Vicks® on their website!   (This may be a limited time offer, but is currently available at the time of this posting).

I received this thermometer for free from Vicks® via Klout Perks.  Although it is not required to write a review, it is appreciated.  These opinions are entirely my own and were not influenced at all by receiving the free product.
