If you really know me, you know that I have extremely problematic feet. I was born with foot issues including severely high arches among other symptoms. I then had both of my feet ran over by a drunk driver at a drive-in movie theater when I was in second grade and the proper care was not taken for the extent of my injuries.
To make a long story short… I have many bones in my feet that fused back together totally wrong and constant pain that actually has gotten worse as I have aged. There is also the issue of a lot of pain throughout my body due to pain related to barometric pressure changes and Fibromyalgia issues.
Medications I Was Using
I had been using a prescription Voltarin Gel for this pain. It worked quite well, but there are issues with using this steroid gel. It is extremely important not to use more than the little bit authorized. It can affect your health in other ways including something with the heart. After my atrial flutter episode a couple of years ago, I felt the need to stop using this gel (as well as a couple of other medications) just in case. I also stopped using Tramadol for pain relief throughout my body about a year ago. Nothing else has worked nearly as good for my pain until I started using essential oils.
Essential Oils I am Using
Ever since I got hooked on using Lavender Essential Oil for a variety of reasons about nine months ago, I started slathering Lavender Oil (mixed in Coconut Oil) on my feet, especially at night.
For about a month now, I have often used Deep Blue Rub on my feet on the nights that they were hurting more. It helps even more than the Lavender when the pain is increased.
Today, my feet are off-the-charts! At least they were. I recently purchased some Copaiba Essential Oil. I diluted several drops in some coconut oil and slathered it on the bottoms of my feet as well as on the tops of my toes. I may have diluted it too much, but even so… the pain has drastically diminished already. You can actually use it “neat” (without dilution), but there is a caution for sensitive skin. Plus, I wanted it over a larger surface (all over my size 10 feet), so I chose to dilute it.
I totally recommend all three of these products for dealing with foot pain. I also researched some other essential oils that can help with foot pain.
This is what I found in regards to helping with foot pain and similar issues. All of these can be helpful for many other symptoms and issues, as well.
Lavender is anti-inflammatory, soothing, relaxing, helps me with my pain. Some people use it for help with arthritis.
Deep Blue Rub provides a cooling and soothing sensation. It is helpful with sore muscles and arthritis, too. Deep Blue also comes in a bottle of Essential Oil, as a roll-on, pre-diluted (“Touch”), and in veggie caps (pill form).
Copaiba can calm, soothe, and support the nervous system. Some people (including me) have found that it can be an effective pain-reliever and anti-inflammatory.
Others that may help with foot pain are: Frankincense, Chamomile, Rosemary, and Peppermint.
