Review Dynamics and Steady Beat

For this lesson, you will want to have rhythm sticks, wooden spoons, or another available “instrument”.

If you missed the early lessons on Keeping a Steady Beat and Beginning Dynamics, do those lessons first.

You and your child will keep a steady beat as you accompany a couple of selections composed by John Philip Sousa (pictured on the left).

Pay attention to the dynamics (loud and soft) and play accordingly. Get louder as the music gets louder, etc.
